This Florida restaurant lets tourists drop their bags and grab an “emotional support beverage”

Benny's on the Beach

In Lake Worth, Florida, if you want to watch the sunrise over the ocean with coffee and a plate of pancakes, you’re most certainly going to Benny’s on the Beach.

Open for 40 years on the Lake Worth Beach Pier, the family-run restaurant is known for its generous breakfast plates and seafood platters and tropical drinks, like a piña colada served in a pineapple.

Although Benny’s has built a loyal local following over the decades, it’s popular with visitors too. And now there’s a new reason for travelers to make it the first stop of their vacation or last stop on the way to the airport. The restaurant’s new “Plane to Pier” promotion includes a dedicated area to store luggage (with free luggage tags), so diners can enjoy a meal and stroll down the boardwalk without having to drag their bags with them.

If you mention the promotion and can show proof that your flight is leaving or arriving that day, you’ll also receive a free welcome cocktail to kick off your vacation or an “emotional support beverage” to help take the sting out of the end of a beach trip.

Open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. the rest of the week, Benny’s also has a sister location, Oceanwalk by Benny’s on the Beach, that is right across the street at the Lake Worth Casino, a shopping strip (not a gambling parlor) that dates back to the 1920s. Oceanwalk’s menu has more raw bar offerings as well as dishes like wagyu empanadas and ceviche. But it’s hard to beat the sunshine and sea breezes from the pier.
