The Oceanana Pier is one of those places where a short fishing trip can turn into an entire day. The only fishing pier in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, it has been a town landmark since 1959. In addition to selling bait and tackle and renting poles and other gear, the Pier House Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner — everything from lattes to fried scallops and shrimp burgers. And if you stick around long enough, it’s one of the best places on the Crystal Coast to catch the sunset.
