First it was frosé, now it’s frozen Sauvignon Blanc — but with a kick.
At Wine Shop Sullivan’s, a slip of wine bar and store on Sullivan’s Island near Charleston, South Carolina, a frozen version of the viral Spicy Sauvy B is a hot commodity. It’s so popular, in fact, the shop has started offering a to-go version for beachgoers.
If you have the time, I recommend taking a seat on Wine Shop’s outdoor deck, a breezy front row seat to the always entertaining foot traffic on Middle Street. Order the “Tide Me Over” board of cheeses (the offerings rotate daily), pecans and crackers. Because if you’re anything like me, a spice wimp, you’ll need something creamy and carb-y to cut the heat — this drink has plenty of it.
The team makes the cocktail in house, blending their own jalapeño-infused simple syrup-based mix with sauvignon blanc in a slushie machine. If you love a frozen margarita, then you’re likely to love this. It has the same refreshing, cooling finish, but it’s just a touch more interesting. And after a long day at the beach, we all need a little kick.
